County Concerned About Behavior At Clubs17 August 2000LAS VEGAS, Nevada – Aug. 17, 2000 --Reports of inappropriate behavior by both patrons and staff at the Venetian hotel-casino's Club C2K prompted Clark County commissioners Wednesday to request a formal review of popular nightclubs along the Las Vegas Strip. Clark County Business License Director Ardel Jorgenson said her division has concerns about the manner in which Club C2K is handling drug use and drunken customers. Her office also has heard complaints about bouncers collecting money from patrons before they are allowed to proceed to the point where they pay a cover charge. Owners of the club were instructed to address the improper behavior and return to the board in two weeks. They also were told to allow undercover business license inspectors and Metro Police into the club at any time. The county's Liquor and Gaming Board went one step further. It asked Jorgenson's division to review policies at other nightspots such as Ra at the Luxor and the Rio hotel-casino's dance club. |
