Corry treasurer accused of gambling away $6,000 in city funds8 July 2007CORRY, PENNSYLVANIA -- As reported by the Associated Press: "Authorities have accused the city treasurer in Corry, Pennsylvania of stealing $6,000 in public funds and gambling the money away in New York casinos. "Craig McAvoy was charged with theft, receiving stolen property and theft by failure to make required disposition of funds. Police say McAvoy told at least two other people that he lost the money at the Seneca Allegany Casino and Hotel in Salamanca, New York. A clerk discovered the money missing this week..." |
