Coral Island Application Rejected

BLACKPOOL, England – As reported by Blackpool Today: "Licensing magistrates have ruled against an application to transform part of the Coral Island complex into a casino.

"The Fylde coast magistrates' gaming committee said there were currently enough venues in the resort to meet demand.

"But members were keen to point out that their decision was not influenced by Blackpool's bid for a regional or 'super casino' licence.

"TC Projects Ltd – part of the Noble Organisation which has leisure and slot machine centres around Britain – wanted to convert part of Coral Island into a gaming, cabaret and dining club, catering for almost 1,000 people at a time.

"But the committee says the current four casinos on the Fylde coast, and the as yet unused casino licence held by London Casinos Ltd for the Oasis centre, meet demand for the foreseeable future…"
