Contractor Wants California Tribal Casino Foreclosed

CALIFORNIA – As reported by the Fresno Bee: "The general contractor on the $150 million Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino has asked a federal judge to order foreclosure on the property to collect on a $7.9 million mechanic's lien -- but the demand may disappear as payments are made to subcontractors.

"Lawyers for Walton Construction Co. Inc. filed a complaint Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Fresno asking for a foreclosure sale to satisfy money still owed Walton.

"Both the Chukchansi Indian tribe, which built the casino, and Cascade Entertainment, which manages it, agreed this month to pay the $17 million. Miller said all sides agreed not to comment on the process until it is completed…"
