Connecticut to Host Conference30 September 2004CONNECTICUT – As reported by the Hartford Courant: "About 750 Connecticut residents sought treatment from state programs for a gambling disorder last year, but many more may be missing out on help because other diseases mask their problem. "To build more awareness about people who suffer from problem gambling and other disorders, such as depression or alcoholism, the state and a private organization are sponsoring a conference next month that will bring in some of the world's leading researchers. "The 2004 International Symposium on Problem Gambling and Co-Occurring Disorders on Oct. 18 and 19 is designed to help mental health and addiction professionals better understand individuals whose problems don't end with gambling.
