Connecticut sports betting adds a new player

26 August 2021

Legalized sports betting in Connecticut is ready to debut next month and there is a new name to be added to the conversation.

The Connecticut Lottery Corporation has received approval to operate up to 15 sports betting locations in the state.

Before this announcement, the Mashantucket Pequot and Mohegan tribes were the only ones who had been authorized to operate. This means that Foxwoods Resort Casino and Mohegan Sun will be in the sports betting world next month.

With the Connecticut Lottery Corporation's approval, 10 of the 11 Sportech's land-based facilities will be offering sports betting. The corporation is not allowed to set up any venues within 25 miles of the Mohegan or Mashantucket reservations.
