Connecticut Slot Revenues Up

CONNECTICUT – As reported by the Hartford Courant: "Revenue from slot machines grew by more than 5 percent at Connecticut's two Indian casinos in April, with Mohegan Sun leading the gambling growth.

"…Mohegan Sun's slots revenue, which consists of what the casino keeps after winnings are paid out, grew by more than 10 percent compared with April 2003. At Foxwoods Resort Casino, which will add hundreds of slot machines and a new casino this summer, revenue grew by about 1 percent over April 2003.

"Average daily revenue from a slot machine at Mohegan Sun was $376 per machine for April. At Foxwoods, the number was about $320. On average, both casinos keep roughly 8 percent of every wager - a sum that adds up quickly because gamblers at slot machines often bet every five or 10 seconds…"
