Connecticut Casinos Slots Outlook Good

CONNECTICUT – As reported by the Connecticut Day: "Foxwoods Resort Casino and Mohegan Sun executives said year-over-year gains in slot machine win last month bode well for the upcoming summer season.

"Foxwoods reported the larger gain for May. The Mashantucket Pequots won $74.5 million from their customers to show a 7.3 percent gain over May 2004. The casino kept 8.63 percent of the $864 million wagered in its 7,312 machines.

"Mohegan Sun won $73.3 million, a 2.3 percent increase over last year. The Mohegan Tribe held 8.62 percent of the $851 million handled by their 6,205 slot units.

"William Sherlock, president and chief executive officer of Foxwoods, said the opening of the Lake of Isles golf resort, a strong entertainment lineup and popular promotions contributed to the casino's vigorous performance…"
