Connecticut Casino Results Mixed

16 June 2004

CONNECTICUT – As reported by the New London Day: "Slot machine revenue was relatively unspectacular during the month of May at Foxwoods Resort Casino and Mohegan Sun.

"Foxwoods won $69.4 million from its slot customers, a 6.9 percent decrease from the previous May. The handle, or total amount of cash run through the casino's 6,621 slot machines, was $884 million, a 7.3 percent drop from May 2003.

"…Mohegan Sun increased its slot machine win 2.1 percent year over year, to $71.6 million, and its handle grew 5.1 percent to $877.77 million.

"…Both casinos contributed more than $17 million to the state of Connecticut under the revenue-sharing agreement that guarantees them exclusivity in casino gambling in exchange for 25 percent of slot revenue."
