Confusion Over Video Lottery Machines

IOWA – As reported by the Des Moines Register: "Iowans are asking state casino regulators why they are permitting slot machines in taverns and grocery stores, not realizing the gambling devices are actually Iowa Lottery games.

"Jack Ketterer, administrator of the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission, said today the commission has no jurisdiction over the Iowa Lottery's TouchPlay machines, even though they closely resemble slot machines. He said Iowa residents have been calling the commission, asking why slot machines are being permitted in places that are not casinos…"
