Conference held for future of Bader Field30 May 2008ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey –- (PRESS RELEASE) -- The future of one of the most valuable tracts of land on the East Coast will be the subject of a special half-day conference on June 12, when officials from state, county and local government as well as business leaders convene for "The Future of Bader Field" at the Atlantic City Convention Center. The 140-acre Bader Field site, formerly the municipal airport on a main artery in Atlantic City, is the prime site for billions of dollars of development. The state and city are considering myriad options for the tract, including gaming, recreation/leisure, hotel, residential and mixed-use. What is the highest and best use for this land? How much is it worth? Would gaming on this site negatively impact Boardwalk casinos? "The Future of Bader Field" includes a Keynote Address by Diane Legreide, Director of Atlantic City Projects for the New Jersey Office of Economic Growth, and two roundtable panel discussions, followed by questions from attendees. Among the distinguished panelists answering these and other questions are CRDA Executive Director Tom Carver; Atlantic City Mayor Scott Evans; Greater Atlantic City Chamber Chairman Paul Gallagher; South Jersey Industries' Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Edward J. Graham; Atlantic County Executive Dennis Levinson; New Jersey Assemblyman Vince Polistina; Penn National Gaming Senior Vice President -- Corporate Development Steven Snyder; and New Jersey State Senator James Whelan. "The decisions that will be made as to the future of Bader Field will profoundly influence the future direction of the entire Atlantic City region," said Michael Pollock, managing director of Spectrum Gaming Group.
