Commission votes 'No opinion' on casino plans17 August 2007BILOXI, Mississippi -- As reported by the Biloxi Sun Herald: "The City Council will consider whether the old Tivoli Hotel site should be rezoned without the advice of the Biloxi Planning Commission. "By a 10-4 vote, the Planning Commission Thursday sent the proposal to the City Council with 'no opinion.' "...Before the vote the Planning Commission continued the hearing that had begun Monday night. Again the comments were split between those who support the proposed billion-dollar casino resort and the tax money it would bring to the city and opponents who say the property isn't a legal casino site and the casino should be built elsewhere..." |
