Commerce Casino named favorite non-Vegas poker room12 February 2010COMMERCE, Casino -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- The world's largest circulation poker magazine has announced that Commerce Casino is its readers favorite poker room outside of Las Vegas. In Bluff Magazine's 5th Annual Reader's Choice Awards, Commerce, the world's largest poker room, was a clear favorite for third time. The online poll draws a wide range of the magazine's 125,000 subscribers, who voice their opinions through their votes. "The poker players have spoken and Commerce is again number," said Eric Morris, owner of Bluff Media. The Bluff Magazine 5th Annual Reader's Choice Awards, comes just as all the action is heating up for Commerce Casino's Los Angeles Poker Classic, considered one of the preeminent poker tournaments in the world. The magazine also lauded LAPC Tournament Director Matt Savage as one of Poker's Biggest Influencers in its annual "Power 20." Said the editors: "Hired by the Commerce Casino prior to the 2009 LA Poker Classic to revamp their tournament offering, he's turned the Commerce into a West Coast Mecca for poker. This past November the LA Poker Open featured an opening event with 3,293 runners - the largest field outside of the WSOP Main Event in 2009." Thanks to Savage's innovation, the LAPC has gained momentum as one of the most well-attended events in poker, drawing both top players globally and local enthusiasts. A total of more than 51 events, are on the calendar, to be conducted in 43 days from Jan. 21 to March 4. The next major $10,000 tournament is the H.O.R.S.E event on Feb. 18, closely followed by the Heads Up tourney on Feb. 23. Anchored by two major World Poker TourĀ® (WPT) events, the LAPC will have an estimated $20 million total prize pool, with $3.3 million in guarantees -- the largest amount ever put forth by Commerce Casino. Poker players don't necessarily need thousands of dollars to join in the competition at Commerce Casino's 2010 L.A. Poker Classic. Thanks to an extensive number of Satellite, Supersatellite and Megasatellite opportunities, many people will have a chance to play in major events by investing as little as $40. There are also five events planned for 2010 where winners will be awarded a seat to one of three LAPC $10,000 events in addition to their winnings. Start times vary for events. The full L.A. Poker Classic schedule and overview can be found at http://www.commercecasino.com/tournamentDetails.aspx?tournamentId=3.
