Comedian returns to his roots

4 December 2007

CONNECTICUT --- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Richard Belzer, perhaps best known for his work as Detective John Munch on NBC's hit show Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, is returning to his roots of stand-up comedy and will be performing in Mohegan Sun's Cabaret Theatre on Friday, January 18th at 9:00pm.

Tickets are $40.00 and are on sale now at the Mohegan Sun Box Office and through Ticketmaster. Ticketmaster customers may log onto ticketmaster.com; call any Ticketmaster Charge By Phone number; or visit any Ticketmaster outlet.

Born and raised in Connecticut, Richard Belzer briefly attended college and after a stint in the Army moved to New York City to begin a career in comedy. His success on stage led to various acting roles and eventually secured him a spot on Homicide: Life on the Streets and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit as Detective John Munch in 1993. Although best known for that role, Belzer is an established actor, a hilarious stand-up comedian and by his own admission, he has played every great comedy club and rotten hole in the wall in the United States, Canada, England and Ireland.
