Colorado Governor Rejects Casino Proposal

DENVER, Colorado – As reported by the Daily Camera: "Gov. Bill Owens rejected a proposal from two American Indian tribes to build a Denver-area casino on Thursday, saying voters have soundly rejected any proposals to expand gambling in Colorado in the past decade.

"He also urged Colorado's congressional delegation to oppose any proposed federal legislation to authorize creation of a Denver-area reservation for the Cheyenne and Arapaho tribes of Oklahoma, which would set the stage for the casino…"
