Colorado Casinos Rebound from Decline

COLORADO – As reported by the Denver Post: "Colorado casinos have rebounded from their first ever decline in fiscal 2003.

"…Fiscal 2004, which ended June 30, saw Colorado casinos harvest a record $711.02 million from losing gamblers, compared with $707.23 million in fiscal 2003. Until 2003, Colorado's 13-year-old casino gaming industry had never seen a downturn in revenues.

"…Half of those taxes go the state's general fund, and 28 percent goes to the state historical fund, which ranks as the richest in the nation…"
