Cleveland Considers Slots for Racetracks18 January 2006CLEVELAND, Ohio – As reported by the WKYC-TV News: " Will there be slot machines at racetracks and 'slots only casinos' in Downtown Cleveland? "Those ideas are at the heart of a gambling plan track owners and developers may try to get in front of Ohio voters this year. "Ohio's racetracks aren't what they used to be. Betters are older and fewer and more gamblers are taking dollars next door to other states. Track owners are touting a plan for slot machines at seven tracks and in two 'slots only casinos' in Cleveland maybe other cities too. Some just want Ohio to get in the gambling game. "…The slots only plan might be an easier sell than full fledged casinos in the antigambling part of the state, but some want other games too.
