Cities of Gold Casino presents two-day fiesta27 June 2017(PRESS RELEASE) -- It's an old legend with a very modern twist: The "Stirring" Story of Bloody Maria and her nourishing influence on the region. Known as a healer and herbalist, she is said to have created the first Bloody Mary drink using the nectar of fruits and vegetables local to the area, nourishing the body and spirit of the Northern New Mexico community. And on 15-16 July, this legend will be celebrated during the first ever Bloody Maria Fiesta to be held at the Cities of Gold Casino in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The two-day event will be held in conjunction with the 22nd anniversary of the casino, according to Christine Gabaldon, Director of Marketing, and promises to be a memorable, magical and milestone celebration. "The Bloody Maria Fiesta will showcase the very best that Northern New Mexico has to offer," said Gabaldon. "We've got a full lineup of exciting local food vendors, and a marketplace of local artisans, handmade jewelry, antiques and sculptors participating, along with live music and games. It really resonates a local cultural feel and fiesta vibe, and that is intentional." The weekend event also features a michelada and beer-tasting tent, a Bloody Maria bar, sponsored by premium tequila brand Patron, food trucks and festival food, including barbecue, burgers and roasted corn. Classic car enthusiasts will be treated to a car show from collectors all over the region, with valuable, eye-catching automobiles on display. Cities of Gold Casino has partnered with local bar-mix company Bloody Maria to produce the weekend fiesta, capitalizing on the company's popular premium beverage products as a big attraction. "Alongside our popular Bloody Maria cocktails, we're excited to introduce New Mexicans to the MARIAcheleda, a light beer cocktail made with tomato juice," said Malisa Braselle, cofounder of Bloody Maria. "The Hatch green chile adds some local flavor, and it's very refreshing in the summer heat. We think people will love the taste, and literally come back for more." And what's an outdoor fiesta without live music? Metalachi, the world's first and only heavy metal mariachi band, will be headlining the show on Saturday. Shwayze, an iconic West Coast entertainer, will energize Sunday's crowds. Proceeds from the Bloody Maria Fiesta benefit the Pojoaque Wellness Center and attendees must be age 21 and over. Tickets are available at the Buffalo Thunder Resort and Casino Box Office, or online. |
