Cirque du Soleil Worker Tells Jurors about Accident

AS VEGAS, Nevada -- As reported by the Las Vegas Review-Journal: "A man who was maimed when a huge stage prop crushed him at the Bellagio told jurors Tuesday of the accident, its aftermath and how he plans to continue on with life despite his horrific injuries.

"Mark Brown, 51, testified during a civil trial stemming from a lawsuit against Cirque du Soleil.

"Brown said he was working on a stage at the Canadian production company's "O" show, doing electrical work in 2002, when the 1,000-pound stage prop fell on him without warning.

"...The prop, which resembles a massive alligator head, fell from a failed rigging in the ceiling. The accident left Brown paralyzed from the waist down, and he is missing about 25 percent of his skull.

"...Brown, through his attorneys, is seeking millions from Cirque du Soleil

"...Attorneys for Cirque du Soleil said it was the Bellagio that is at fault in the incident..."
