Circa Sports' NFL Survivor has only 30 entrants remaining

6 December 2023

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Las Vegas sports betting brand Circa Sports reports that only 30 entrants remain in its professional football contest, Circa Survivor. The unexpected losses suffered by the two most popular plays of week 13 – Pittsburgh and Jacksonville – resulted in a significant elimination of more than 60% of the remaining contestants.

Offering the largest prize purse ever for a professional football betting contest, the pool for the winner(s) has surged to $9,267,000. An increase from last year's $6.1 million, this makes each remaining entry currently valued at an implied $308,900.

The most popular plays of week 13 were Pittsburgh – 24 selections, Jacksonville – 24 selections, and Tampa Bay – 15 selections. Pittsburgh was first to lose after facing a tough challenge against Arizona, with a score of 24-10 after an early setback and after quarterback Kenny Pickett’s injury. Jacksonville fell during an overtime battle with Cincinnati, after losing their starting quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Additionally, New Orleans and New York went on to lose and eliminated one entrant each.

Despite a few participants entering week 13 with multiple entries, all those with multiple entries suffered sufficient losses to reduce them to at least one remaining entry. The 30 remaining entries now represent 30 distinct entrants.

At this time last year, only one team was eliminated in week 13, dropping the total to 70.
