Chumash Casino Resort extends closure for another 30 days22 April 2020Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians announced today that its Chumash Casino Resort in Santa Ynez, California will remain closed for "another 30 days" as California "continues to combat the spread of COVID-19." Below is a letter from Kenneth Kahn,Tribal Chairman April 22, 2020 To our valued guests: As California continues to combat the spread of COVID-19, we are faced with the ongoing uncertainty of when it will be safe to resume our business operations. While we have been working closely with local, state, and federal officials as they monitor data to determine when stay-at-home orders may be lifted, we do not have a definitive timeline of when we will reopen our doors. In light of this information, we are extending the closure of the Chumash Casino Resort another 30 days. Though we are currently not open for business, we are working diligently on new and enhanced safety protocols with you in mind. Measures like heightened cleaning procedures, methods of safe distancing, and the acquisition of temperature-monitoring technology are all currently in development. We remain steadfast in our commitment to your health and well-being and look forward to the day when we can welcome you back to Chumash.
