Choctaw Casino in Durant nominated for Academy of Country Music Award

(PRESS RELEASE) -- For the fifth consecutive year Choctaw Casino & Resort - Durant has been nominated for an Academy of Country Music Award. This year the casino is up for a “Casino of the Year-Small Capacity” in the 54th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards.

The Academy of Country Music announced the Industry Award nominees for the 54th Academy of Country Music Awards. Industry Awards, Studio Recording Awards and Special Award winners will be announced and celebrated during the event which will take place Sunday, 7 April 2019 at the world-renowned MGM Grand Hotel & Casino Las Vegas Garden Arena.

“We are honored to be recognized by the Academy of Country Music,” states Frank Deal, assistant general manager at Choctaw Casino & Resort - Durant. “Being nominated among some of the best entertainment venues in the nation is a great accomplishment in itself and we hope to continue to provide the best experience to our guests.”

The Grand Theater at Choctaw Casino & Resort has hosted several country performers, including 16-time ACM Award winner and host of this year’s ACM Awards, Reba McEntire. Other performers who have graced the stage include, Entertainer of the Year nominee, Jason Aldean; Male Artist of the Year nominee, Chris Stapleton; Group of the Year nominees, Old Dominion and Little Big Town and Female Artist of the Year nominees, Miranda Lambert and Kacey Musgraves.

Other nominees for the Casino of the Year – Small Capacity include:

- Harrah's Cherokee Casino Resort - Cherokee, NC

- The Joint: Tulsa - Tulsa, OK

- Peppermill Reno - Reno, NV

- Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort - Mt. Pleasant, MI
