Cheltenham racecourse refunds money to punters16 November 2009CHELTENHAM, England -- A marketing exercise by Cheltenham racecourse has resulted in certain punters claiming a refund on their tickets, according to the BBC. The racecourse had offered certain racegoers a refund if an Irish trained horse won the race. No such horse had won in 29 years, the BBC report explained. Tranquil sea's victory means 200 punters are entitled to a refund of £30 each. Despite the payout, Cheltenham hailed the exercise a success because of the amount of publicity it generated, the BBC reported. |
