Cheese Factory Workers Collect Powerball Jackpot

WISCONSIN – As reported by the Fond du Lac Reporter: "As the winners of the $208.6 million Powerball jackpot prepare to make their first public appearance, Fond du Lac is making preparations to role out the red carpet on the Miracle Mile.

"The Sargento Cheese factory workers plan to gather at Ma & Pa's Grocery Express, 506 S. Main St., at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday for a news conference. The store sold the winning ticket in August.

"All 100 winners were employed at the Plymouth plant. They intend to split the jackpot equally, and the Wisconsin Lottery expects to receive a signed court order within several weeks. The winning ticket was presented to the lottery Friday by two members of what the lottery is referring to as the '100 Miracles' group and the group's attorney.

"If each person takes the lump sum, he or she will get $600,000 to $700,000 after taxes, said Lottery spokeswoman Jessica Iverson. The lump sum will be issued within 10 business days after the court order is issued…"
