Charley Pride to perform at North Star9 January 2019(PRESS RELEASE) -- Grammy Award winning American country singer, guitarist, recording artist and performer Charley Pride will perform in The Orion Event Center at North Star Mohican Casino Resort on Saturday, 18 May. Come hear this Country Music Hall of Fame inductee sing from his collection of hits. Tickets are on sale today starting at 10 a.m. Before Charley Pride was creating hit singles on the radio, he was a signed pitcher and outfielder for the Memphis Red Sox. He also played a bit for the Yankees’ Class D team in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. After some time in the Army, he found himself back on the ball field. Charley made a name for himself by singing the national anthem at baseball games. He moved along to honky-tonks and night clubs. By 1966, Chet Atkins took Charley under his wing and signed him to RCA Records. His song, “Just Between You and Me,” would break the Top-10 Country Chart and garner his first Grammy nomination. Since then, Charley has found success with other hits like, “Let Me Live” and “All I Have to Offer You is Me.” “Charley Pride is a country music legend,” said Michael Bonakdar, General Manager of North Star Mohican Casino Resort. “We are thrilled to have him perform here and are very much looking forward to his show!” Hear Charley Pride at North Star Mohican Casino Resort.
