Century Casinos Approved for Slots

16 September 2005

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Century Casinos, Inc. (Nasdaq: CNTY) reports that it received approval from the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board to add an additional 100 slot machines to its current 300 slot machines at the Caledon Casino. The Company plans to install the first 70 slot machines before the busy Christmas season of this year.

In connection with this approval, the Company will enter into an agreement with the Provincial Roads Authority to contribute an amount of eight million Rand (approx. $1.2 million) towards the widening and tarring of the road between the cities of Hermanus and Caledon. Century has been actively pursuing the development of this road to give residents and tourists of the coastal areas around Hermanus better access to the Caledon Hotel, Spa and Casino.

Hermanus is located in the Overberg, Western Cape Province, South Africa, within easy reach of Cape Town International Airport. Hermanus, also known as the Riviera of the South, is known to offer the best shore-based whale watching in the world, as well as miles of beaches, shark cage diving, rock lobster fishing, several of the country's top wine estates, quaint boutiques, markets and shops.

"We believe that our contribution to the road project will be very beneficial for our operations in Caledon as well as for the value of our existing and future developments on our 600+ acres site," said Erwin Haitzmann, Chairman and Co CEO." We intend to formalize our commitment to the road project by November 1, 2005 and look forward to the benefit of having substantially more slot machines available for our customers before the Christmas holidays of this year."
