Cavs owner hopes to bring gambling to Ohio26 February 2009CLEVELAND, Ohio -- As reported by WKYC: "Another pitch for gambling in Ohio may be on the November ballot. "Cavs owner Dan Gilbert is part of this latest push. "WKYC Senior Political Correspondent Tom Beres reports that, under this newest proposal, there would be four casinos. The plan would put one casino in Cleveland, Toledo, Columbus and Cincinnati. "Other players in the push include the My Ohio team behind last year's failed ballot issue, businessman Jeff Jacobs and Penn National, the gaming company that opposed last year's measure. "Penn National is the gaming group that opposed the issue on last November's ballot to protect its casino business in Indiana. "...Governor Ted Strickland has softened his absolute opposition to gambling because of Ohio's budget problems..." |
