Casinos Expect Thanksgiving Rush

OHIO – As reported by the Cincinnati Enquirer: "Most people in the region will enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving feast at home today, but about 10,000 will take a trip to the Argosy casino in Lawrenceburg.

"Thousands more will flock to Rising Sun's Grand Victoria Casino & Resort and Belterra Casino Resort near Vevay in what's becoming a holiday tradition for many Greater Cincinnati families and their friends.

"Area casinos say Thanksgiving kicks off one of the year's busiest weekends.

"…The weekend is an important one for the casinos. That's because December is typically one of the slowest months as would-be patrons are busy with other holiday pursuits. Gamblers return during the week after Christmas, but that's followed by a difficult two-month winter stretch…"
