Casinos' Contributions to Colorado Climb Slightly22 August 2005COLORADO – As reported by the Denver Post: "Colorado casinos pumped another record number of tax dollars into the state's coffers in fiscal 2005, but the increase was the lowest since the state legalized gambling. "The Colorado Limited Gaming Fund distributed $92.9 million to local and state agencies during fiscal 2005, which ended June 30, according to figures released Thursday by the Colorado Division of Gaming. That's up 0.6 percent from fiscal 2004, when the fund doled out $92.4 million. "…The local governments of the three cities where gambling is legal - Black Hawk, Central City and Cripple Creek - received $20.44 million of the $92.9 million that was distributed…" |
