Casino workers union offers citizenship application education for members10 May 2010ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey — Local 54, a union that represents Atlantic City casino workers, is now offering members citizenship education, according to report by The Press of Atlantic City. The union has organized classes to help members understand the citizenship application and naturalization process, the report said. The classes, described as a pilot program, are an initiative by the union that acknowledges the intimidating and expensive nature of the citizenship naturalization system, the Press of Atlantic City report noted. The program will eventually be opened up to members of employees families as well, the Press of Atlantic City report said. |
