Casino to Open in India

INDIA – As reported by the A casino near S. Thomas' College primary section in Kollupitiya is to be opened tomorrow despite being suspended by the government, reliable sources said.

"Sources said a Colombo district UPFA candidate and a popular businessman were the main share holders of this casino.

"…Following a complaint made by Colombo's Anglican Bishop Duleep de Chickera and the Old Boys' Association of S. Thomas' College the Prime Minister had issued orders to the Finance Ministry and the IGP to suspend the opening of this casino.

"In spite of those orders action has allegedly been taken to open a casino in the same place on permission granted by a UPFA politician…"
