"...Today's meeting does not include an anticipated local anti-smoking ordinance that was seemingly timed to Thursday's annual Great American Smokeout. "At a Nov. 2 Kennedy Plaza news conference, Councilmen Gene Robinson and Bruce Ward said they planned to introduce an ordinance at today's meeting that would ban smoking in all city workplaces. "...On Jan. 26, Assemblyman Jim Whelan, D-Atlantic, and 10 others introduced Assembly Bill 2067, which would remove the smoking-ban exemption for casinos and simulcasting facilities. It was referred to Assembly Health and Senior Services Committee..." Copyrighted material written for and published by The Press of Atlantic City. |
