Casino seeks changes in hiring process

HARRISBURG, Pennsylvania – As reported by the Philly Burbs: "An official from Philadelphia Park Casino in Bensalem is asking state gambling regulators to alter the normal background screening process for the hiring of some types of employees.

"Tom Bonner, vice president and general counsel with the racetrack's parent company, Greenwood Gaming, said he wants temporary licenses to be issued to certain employees who have little contact with slots and gambling customers so that hiring can go more quickly.

"Bonner spoke at the third annual Pennsylvania Gaming Congress and Racing Forum, an annual conference in Harrisburg for the newly created gaming industry.

"…Reached afterward, Tad Decker, chairman of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, said the board is going to discuss temporary licenses at its meeting Thursday…"
