Casino Security Targets Crime, Terrorism

LAS VEGAS – As reported by Channel News Asia: "You have watched it in the movies - hidden cameras, laser protected safes and secret surveillance rooms.

"Casino security is a multi-million dollar business, what measures can Singapore expect in its integrated resorts? Channel NewsAsia visited Las Vegas and found out how casinos there ensure security.

"From hidden cameras to secret surveillance rooms - just what can Singapore expect in its 2 new integrated resorts?

"…[Security dogs,] 'Ace', 'Jackpot' and 'Deuce' make daily rounds at Wynn Las Vegas where they sniff out luggage, vehicles and convention halls for any explosives.

"…If you think a casino heist is possible - ala Ocean's 11 - consider this. There are hundreds of hidden cameras on the ceiling alone.

"…All these measures help to protect the casino from daily crime and also terrorism.

"Dealers are trained to make special choreographed actions to indicate whether or not guests are cheating.

"…There are also secret surveillance rooms and areas where staff wear special pocketless jumpsuits when they count money…"
