Casino revenues interest helps food charity12 October 2006NORTHWOOD, Iowa – As reported by the Iowa Globe Gazette: "Interest earnings on Diamond Jo Worth Casino charitable revenues has resulted in a $10,000 donation to the Worth County food shelf, called Manna. "The interest was earned on funds held between granting periods, said Worth County Development Authority President Steve Miller. The WCDA was responsible for making the donation. "The WCDA is the charitable arm of the casino operation and oversees distribution of 5.76 percent of annual casino revenues. "…He said that a cash gift to the food shelf gives the organization the flexibility it needs to purchase specific items that it needs…" |
