Casino proposed for York

YORK, England – As reported by the York Press: "A multi-million pound casino could be on its way to a rundown area of York after plans were revealed by a group of city businessmen.

"The four-strong consortium hope the proposal for an £8 million development off Foss Islands Road could bring up to 200 jobs to the city.

"Brothers Paul and George Pavlou, who run the Vudu Lounge club, in Swinegate, and Neil and Lee Horwell, of Horwell Brothers scrap and coal merchants, in Mansfield Street, are behind the scheme.

"They hope the plan for a casino alongside bars, three restaurants and a 600-capacity club on the site of scrap yard will transform the east of the city as the neighbouring Hungate development gets underway…"
