Casino proposal will be on Ohio November 4, 2008 ballot

26 September 2008

INNEAPOLIS, Minnesota --(PRESS RELEASE)-- Lakes Entertainment, Inc. announced today that the Ohio Secretary of State certified that Issue Six, a referendum to permit one casino in Ohio, will be on the November 4, 2008 statewide ballot.

"We are excited to present this referendum to the people of Ohio," said Lakes' President and Chief Financial Officer Tim Cope. "The approval of Issue Six will bring in millions of dollars in tax revenue and thousands of new jobs to Ohio, while keeping money from travelling outside the State."

Issue Six will give Ohio voters an opportunity to legalize the first resort/casino in the State. Under the current development plan, construction of the planned casino resort would likely commence within 12 - 18 months after the referendum is approved, and the casino resort would open approximately 18 months after construction commences.
