Casino Murder Convictions Upheld

9 January 2004

LOS ANGELES, California – As reported by NBC: "A state appellate court panel on Thursday upheld the murder convictions of two men for the shooting death of a man who was followed from an Inglewood casino to a Santa Clarita, Calif., gas station.

"The three-justice panel from the 2nd District Court of Appeal rejected defense claims of errors in the San Fernando Superior Court trial of Phaynes Noble Reeda Jr. and Anthony Duke Graham.

"Reeda and Graham were convicted of the Sept. 30, 2001, killing of 26-year- old Brandon Hunsche of Valencia, who was followed about 50 miles to a Texaco Star Mart gas station after winning $600 to $700 at the Hollywood Park Casino.

"…Reeda is serving a life prison term without the possibility of parole, plus another 25-year-to-life sentence for personally using a gun during the crime.

"Graham was sentenced to 26 years to life in prison."
