Casino May Fund Cleveland Convention Center

CLEVELAND, Ohio – As reported by the Associated Press: " The search for a Cleveland convention center is on again with a new twist for funding it: a downtown casino.

"The Cleveland-Cuyahoga County Convention Facilities Authority is deep into a months-long process to find a site and a way to finance and run a new convention center.

"…Commissioner Peter Lawson Jones said the best funding source would be a casino, even if it means delaying the construction of a convention center by several years.

"Government and business leaders for months have quietly talked about the possibility of opening a casno in downtown Cleveland…"
