Casino gaming marks 20 years in downtown Aurora24 June 2013The Aurora Beacon-News reports that Hollywood Casino - Aurora has just passed the 20-year mark, having opened to the gambling public on June 17, 1993. According to the Beacon-News, the casino has generated about $1.5 billion for the state and city since it opened, and in that time has also donated about $3.4 million to charities and local non-profit organizations. A total of 12,200 people have worked at the property over the past 20 years and 57 employees have been thre since the day it opened, the Beacon-News reports. |
