Casino foes urges against liquor license1 August 2007SYRACUSE, New York -- As reported by the Syracuse Post-Standard: "A citizens group has urged the state to deny a liquor license to Turning Stone Resort and Casino because, the group says, the casino is operating illegally. "The Upstate Citizens for Equality Niagara Frontier chapter said the agreement that allowed Turning Stone to open in 1993 is illegal. Until the Oneida Indian Nation ceases its illegal gambling or signs a new agreement with the state that legalizes the gambling, no liquor license should be issued, UCE said in a letter to the state Liquor Authority.
