Casino Document Details Slot Odds

RENO, Nevada -- As reported by the Ukiah Daily Journal: "One-armed bandits are kinder to gamblers in Reno than Hopland, according to an internal Sho Ka Wah casino document that gives a rare glimpse into the business of Indian gaming. The same may be true for other California Indian casinos, but documentation on their odds is not available.

"According to the Hopland memo, gamblers in February dropped $12.6 million into slots at Sho Ka Wah and won $8.9 million, for a monthly payout rate of 70.2 percent.

"…Payouts on Reno slots are considerably better than those listed in Hopland's February report. They're around 95 percent and cannot legally drop below 75 percent, according to Nevada's gaming control board.

"…According to Frank Streshley, a senior analyst with the board, Nevada casinos averaged payouts of 94.52 percent in the 12 months ending in September…"
