Casino Dealers Caught Cheating

4 December 2003

"Booked into the Placer County jail on suspicion of conspiracy, burglary, embezzlement and grand theft were the dealer, Guiqin Luo, 22, of Sacramento, and players Khue Thanh Do, 32, of Rancho Cordova and Charm Sae Pharn, 25, of Antelope.

"…Howard Dickstein, an attorney for the United Auburn Indian Community, which owns Thunder Valley Casino, said the two are not Cache Creek employees but that one was a former Cache Creek worker.

"Dickstein said the dealer and players at Thunder Valley Casino allegedly were cheating at mini-baccarat, a card game in which players bet on whether the dealer's hand or a player's hand will come closest to totaling nine.
