Casino cheat sentenced

UNITED KINGDOM – As reported by the This is Local London: "A big-time gambling cheat who used hidden cameras to run a "sophisticated" casino sting has been sentenced to prison.

"Yau Yiv Lam and his accomplices Fan Leung Tsang and Bit Chai Wong conned casinos out of thousands of pounds in a scam which police say is the first of its kind to be detected in the UK.

"The two men and a woman worked together as a team, using high-tech surveillance equipment to guaruntee winnings at casinos across the capital.

"…The trio were arrested in a planned operation by police and security staff at the Mint Casino in Cromwell Road, South Kensington.

"On the night in question two members of the gang played a game of three-card poker, one of them fitted with a micro camera hidden under his sleeve pointing at the croupier.

"The footage was beamed, via a transmitter attached to the man's waist, to a nearby van. There a third person instructed the players through hidden earpieces on whether or not to bet…"
