Casino Boat Not Moving to Florida

FLORIDA – As reported by the Pensacola News Journal: "Owners of a casino gambling ship out of Brunswick, Ga., have decided not to relocate the vessel to Pensacola, according to Leon Walker, Port of Pensacola director.

"Walker said Golden Isle Casino Cruise Lines executives indicated their decision was based on reports that Mississippi's hurricane-damaged casinos may be back on line within three months.

"…The 190-foot ship, which offers a full range of gaming tables and more than 150 slot machines, would have docked at the port and under state and federal laws, would have had to travel 12 miles offshore before gambling could have legally commenced…"
