Casino bar law criticized

PENNSYLVANIA – As reported by the Scranton Times-Tribune: "Some bar owners are concerned legislation that would allow casinos to dispense unlimited alcoholic drinks to patrons would be bad for business.

"Both the state House and Senate signed off on a bill late Tuesday that would allow free booze to flow at Pennsylvania's slots parlors. Gov. Ed Rendell has not said if he would sign the bill into law.

"Under the bill, casinos could serve unlimited free drinks to gambling patrons from 7 a.m. through 2 a.m. — the same hours bars and restaurants are legally allowed to serve.

"Bars and restaurants are prohibited from offering more than one free drink per patron.

"Currently, Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs is the only casino in the state…"
