Casino Arizona player wins $222,287 at 3 Card Poker4 June 2015(PRESS RELEASE) -- Casino Arizona, an enterprise of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, announced a winner in its 3-Card Poker progressive game. The male Phoenix resident, who wishes to remain anonymous, tested his skills on June 1 and claimed $222,287. The big win made property history, taking the title as this year’s largest 3-Card Poker jackpot at Casino Arizona. “Jackpots are won on a daily basis at Casino Arizona, but that doesn’t diminish our excitement when a player takes home a major prize,” said Ramon Martinez, director of public relations for Casino Arizona. “ Winning more than $200,000 is a life-changing event and we’re thrilled we were able to play such a significant role in the winner’s life.” A favorite pastime of many, 3-Card Poker challenges players to wager bets with only three cards. They can select the dealer as their opponent and place an Ante bet and also choose to bet their own hand for a Pair Plus wager. With the Ante bet, players must fold or place a Play bet equivalent to their ante, while dealers must possess a queen or higher to move forward. If the dealer doesn’t meet the requirement, then the player will receive money on the Ante wager and also move forward with the Play bet. On the other hand, if the dealer qualifies, then the cards are compared and the best poker hand takes the win. A progressive game, the 3-Card Poker jackpot increases each session until it is hit. It has now been reset to $100,000, so there’s still a lot of money on the table to be won!
