Casiho Pauma lights upset neighbors22 August 2007PAUMA VALLEY, California -- As reported by North County Times: "Searchlights used to promote Casino Pauma have angered tribal neighbors in Pauma Valley. "County officials wrote a letter to the Pauma Band of Mission Indians, which owns the casino, asking them to turn the searchlights out because they pollute the night sky with light, disturbing neighbors and disrupting observations at Palomar Observatory. "...As chairman of the Pala-Pauma Community Sponsor Group, Chisholm said he has also received about a dozen calls from neighbors complaining about the lights. He said the group will hold a public hearing on the matter at its Sept. 5 meeting..." |
