Caramella at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino now accepting reservations

12 December 2024

(PRESS RELEASE) -- A decadent dining and lounge experience by Caesars Entertainment and Tao Group Hospitality is opening soon at Planet Hollywood Las Vegas. Caramella, a new Italian restaurant with an expansive terrace overlooking The Strip and a swanky cocktail lounge, is now accepting reservations via OpenTable.

“We are so fortunate to partner with Tao Group Hospitality again to create a fun and dynamic destination restaurant and lounge,” said Ken Ostempowski, SVP and General Manager of Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. “Caramella is the perfect place to enjoy dinner and drinks before a concert at PH Live or dine al fresco on the terrace with spectacular views of the Las Vegas Strip. We look forward to welcoming our guests very soon.”

Designed by Fettle, Caramella is part restaurant and part lounge, drawing inspiration from 1970s Italy. Upon entry, guests are taken through a velvet vestibule, where a Murano glass chandelier hovers above, creating the focal points of the bar and lounge and setting the tone for the spaces that follow. Glossy finishes and backlit onyx walls adorn the restaurant and represent the spirit of the era.

A candy shop stacked with Italian treats from top to bottom sits in the center of the restaurant. Behind a secret door within the shop is a kitsch, moody lounge dressed in ‘70s wallpaper and centered around a mirror mosaic DJ booth. A mix of layered leopard print fabrics and geometric rugs add an edge of whimsy to the aesthetic of the lounge.

Tao Group Hospitality’s Chief Culinary Officer, Ralph Scamardella, has created an incredible menu, including original takes on regional Italian favorites, indulgent pastas and a selection of meats served Tuscan-style with decadent sides à la carte.

Diners can dive into a variety of appetizers to start. The Bone Marrow Surf & Turf features rock shrimp drizzled in garlic butter, while the Wagyu Beef Tartare is accompanied by cornichons, Dijon mustard and a fried egg.

An Italian eatery would not be complete without a selection of delicious pastas, such as the Blue Crab Malfadine, made with lemon, heavy cream and topped with toasted breadcrumbs, or the Cavatelli Bolognese, a dish of ground veal, tomato and parmesan. Another favorite is the Baked Manicotti with ricotta, spinach and marinara. Additionally, seafood entree options range from Grilled Octopus to a 2-pound Lobster Arrabiata.

Guests can also choose from a lineup of creative cocktails, including the Midnight Oil, a bold, rich concoction featuring Pendleton Midnight Whisky, Amaro Nonino Quintessentia, oleo saccharum, angostura and cardamom bitters, or La Granita, a cool and fruity option with Maestro Dobel Diamante Tequila, orangecello, grapefruit, lemon and prosecco.

Those seeking a sweet ending to their meal can indulge in a selection of standout desserts, including the Signature Caramella Tart, with dark chocolate custard and salted caramel, as well as the NY-Style Cheesecake, topped with raspberry coulis and fresh berries.

Caramella is an expansion of Tao Group Hospitality’s partnership with Caesars Entertainment, which includes OMNIA Nightclub and Stanton Social Prime at Caesars Palace.

Caramella is on the Mezzanine level of Planet Hollywood next to the Criss Angel Theater. The restaurant is open from 4 to 10 p.m. nightly, and the lounge is open from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. Thursday through Sunday.
