Cape Breton Woman Wins $10 million in Lottery26 May 2004NEW WATERFORD, Nova Scotia – As reported by the CBC: ``An unemployed Cape Breton woman has won what is believed to be the biggest lottery jackpot in the Island's history. ``Ferne Hawley, who recently lost her job at a hardware store, won $10 million on a Lotto 6-49 ticket over the weekend. ``…Hawley and her husband, Tom Young, have five children. He had a losing ticket in the draw, but she ended up the only ticketholder in the country with six matching numbers…" |
